The Beverage Industry is one of the most leading industries in the world. Various products over the years have found themselves placed in the one of the two categories of this Industry. Where the Alcoholic segment included drinks like wine, distilled spirits and brewery, the Non Alcoholic category comprised of soft water, canning, fruit juices, coffee and tea etc. Various new products are introduced every day in the Beverage Industry and surprisingly according to an estimate, in 2013; the beverage market value worldwide amounted to about 1.84 billion U.S. dollars. The forecast of 2018 market value sums up to 2.24 billion U.S. dollars. Seems like a vision right?
The invention of the beverage industry dates to the 19th century, when Nicholas Appert coined canning and Louis Pasteur introduced pasteurization. Worldwide, the beverage industry has coined a respected and reputed designation while it has also enhanced its position to a leading segment in the Global perspective.
Prior to the Indian revolution, people consumed food and drinks mainly from local markets and there was no availability of packaged items. With the emergence of World War-II, a fertile ground for innovations in the food industry was laid. This paved the way for major reformations and improvements in the development of the Food Industry. With convenient product distribution and cold storage facilities, food can be transported to stores anywhere globally.

In early 1990’s, the involvement of foreign markets and their idea of economic integration led to Globalization. Though Globalization lays its grounds back to 1492, still it got into practice from early 1990’s. Globalization in itself was indeed revolutionary in the Beverage Industry. Due to Globalization, the growing importance of international trade and trading in the beverage industry has multiplied and improved ever since. According to a research conducted in Canada, statistics show that the growth in the food and beverage industry from 1972-1990, had seen an aggressive increment with a marked percentile from 58% to 64% of the total Agri-food trade. To state statistically, the juices category solely in the beverage industry had a net worth of $452 billion in 2012
Demographical disparities in the Indian geography lead to requirement of diverse products in varied regions. For instance, the inhabitants in the southern region of India prefer dust tea while the inhabitants in the western part crave for lose tea. The southern part of India also prefers to consume coffee in large quantity.
